Balvaig Bar

The Balvaig bar (named after the local river), is situated in the guest lounge and is open between the hours of 11am and 11pm.

It's the perfect place to sit and relax whilst enjoying a glass of fizz, one of our many single malts or even an early evening gin and tonic.

Islay Malts - A smoky character derived from peat, both in the water from which whisky is made and the levels in the barley.

Highland Malts - Scotland’s largest whisky region with an assortment of styles. Some of  the most famous names come from this region

Island Malts - the islands of Arran, Mull, Jura, Skye, Lewis and Orkney are home to an eclectic mix of styles, from light citrus to full-on peat smoke whisky.

Speyside Malts - At one end of the spectrum there are light, grassy, ‘lunchtime whiskies’, at the other end, rich, sweet and sherried.

Lowland Malts - The Lowlands produce mainly blended whisky nowadays, but a few producers keep up the trademark light and grassy Lowland malt style.

Whisky from the bar at Creagan House

This juniper-based spirit is undergoing something of a revival at the moment. We have a selection of local, Edinburgh and London Dry gins. Alongside this range of classics we have a good range of modern flavoured gins including citrus, violet, rosehip and pomegranate. Served with a chilled bottle of Fever tree tonic it's the perfect start (or finish) to your evening.

Gin from the bar at Creagan House

What better way to enjoy a wee dram or two of whisky or a glass of gin and tonic? Our illuminated gazebo is situated on the grass beside the burn. This gentle cascade of water comes down through Strathyre Forest, runs beside Creagan House before disappearing under the road to flow into the River Balvaig opposite.
